Description
Reclaim your valuable floor space by investing in Benchmark’s APEX Cantilever Racking.
Specifically designed to store irregular, long form and awkward products that are not always suitable to store in standard selective pallet racking, Cantilever Racking offers an organised, flexible, and strong storage solution for a range of objects from building to construction materials whilst maintaining the ease of product selectivity.
Cantilever is available in single or double-sided configurations with design options to suit either light or medium to heavy-duty requirements. All Cantilever has a quality powder coat finish (blue and orange) for all indoor applications, whereas Hot dipped galvanised (HDG) is recommended for all outdoor storage or corrosive environments, including coastal or cyclone-prone regions.
The hot dipped galvanised finish is ideal for outdoor warehouse yards and construction sites, as it reliably holds up against water penetration and prevents rust. The HDG finish creates a highly durable material that will last against a variety of materials in most environments.
Optional accessories including arm and base end spigots (to avoid cylindrical items from rolling off) are available upon request.
Benchmark’s APEX Cantilever Racking has been designed according to the FEM 10.2.09 and is engineered in Australia. Whether installed inside a warehouse or outdoors in a cyclone area of Australia, our Cantilever has comprehensive design and wind load calculations ensuring the upmost quality and safety with your proposal.
Cantilever racking is the ideal storage system for;
- Aluminium
- Extrusions
- Pipe / Tubing
- Rigid conduit
- Plastics
- Timber
- Steel sections

Outdoor Solution
Galvanised cantilever racking is engineered to perform reliably in outdoor settings, offering strong resistance to corrosion and exposure to harsh weather conditions.
Any racking system intended for outdoor installation is assessed for wind and seismic loads, tailored to the specific site and setup.
To prepare an accurate quote for outdoor cantilever racking, we’ll need a few key details including:
- What suburb and postcode will the racking be installed in?
- What’s the nature of the surrounding area (e.g. industrial zone, farmland)?
- How close are any buildings or trees taller than 5 metres?
These details help us determine the wind region and terrain category, which directly influence the load rating of the racking system.
Wind Regions are classifications used across Australia to reflect typical wind speeds and the likelihood of extreme weather events. These are defined by the Australian Standard AS1170.2:2021 for Structural Design Actions.
Terrain refers to how exposed the site is to wind, based on nearby structures and landscape features:
Terrain 1.0 – Open areas with no buildings or tall trees within 200 metres (e.g. flat fields).
Terrain 2.0 – Rural locations with trees and buildings within 200 metres.
Terrain 2.5 – Semi-developed or industrial areas with buildings within 100 metres, or semi-built-up zones with buildings within 50 metres.
Terrain 3.0 – Densely developed industrial areas with buildings within 5 metres.
Another important consideration is the ground surface. Outdoor racking must be installed on a concrete base—bitumen or gravel surfaces are not suitable. Depending on your site, we recommend either a concrete slab or concrete strip footings with a minimum strength of 32MPa.
